About Frank Fell
Welcome to the Frank Fell Photography website. Frank is a Travel Photographer who specialises in digital capture images covering the wide spectrum of travel, landscape, architecture and lifestyle in a variety of foreign and domestic locations.Frank, who is also a trained Engineer and has lived in Derbyshire all of his life said, 'I am currently supplying two UK stock libraries in the UK and another one based in Milan with digital images, these are the backbone of the business, but I also submit images to a number of postcard and calendar companies. I have had one book published of my home county 'Derbyshire' and numerous travel articles featured in county magazines. The best of my travel images are managed by the Travel Library and these can be viewed by Clicking here.'
Since 2002 Frank has carried out commissioned shoots for Bridge Travel, Leger Holidays and more recently Thomson Holidays, part of TUI, Europe's biggest holiday company, 'Thomson is obviously one of the big players in the travel industry and it was something of a privilege to be awarded a commissioned shoot by them and I am sure I will do more in the future'.
Frank's stock images span four continents, Europe, America, Asia and Australia; however, the vast majority of his stock images cover Europe and the Caribbean. He uses only Canon equipment, He explained, ‘During 2009 I invested in a Canon 5D Mark II and it has proved to be the best piece of kit I have ever bought, at 21mp, it produces a 60mb file and the images are fantastic, but I still have a use for my Canon 5D (Mark I) as a back up camera’. His lenses include 24-135mm Canon IS lens, for general use, a 24mm tilt and shift lens, ideal for architecture and a 100-400mm Canon IS zoom lens, for places he just cannot get to. He went on to say, ‘I learned from the Thomson shoot that I needed another wide angle lens and additional flash units for hotel interiors, so generally, I think I am about done investing in equipment….for now’.
Frank has plans to expand and develop 'Travel Photo Solutions' customer base over the next few years by marketing the business in a professional and progressive way, continuing to build his stock of 'world class' images and finding new markets for his imagery. He is currently looking for someone to accompany him on some of his future stock shoots, he explained tongue in cheek, 'I am looking for someone who would be prepared to carry my camera bag, as it is getting a bit heavy. I can't afford to pay someone for the privilege, but it would be good for someone who is keen to travel and learn a bit about photography along the way, who knows, it could develop into business partnership'. He went on to add, ‘Someone who has marketing skills would be even better, as this is the area I need to improve most, so if anyone out there is interested, get in touch'. Among the places Frank wants to revisit are New York City and Australia, he also wants to explore more of Asia, the Caribbean and South America.
Frank is always interested in what people think about his images and the site in general, so drop him a line, he will be pleased to hear from you.
